Ok, let's begin by talking about the genre. Steamy romance novels aren't my kind of thing. At all. I quite loate them to be honest. I gave this book a chance not because of the promise of steamy naughtyiness between the pages, but due to it's element of danger and real life circumstances. Sure, the circumstance might seem quite fabricated to most, especially in England, but as a Mexican-American from Texas, the cartel culture hits a bit closer to home, and I really wanted to know how the author would portray the culture, and I frankly wanted to know if she had any clue what she was talking about.

She did. 

That was what really hooked me in, and after reading the first chapter I just couldn't put it down. I loved this book from pretty much the beginning to the end. The characters were relatable, honest, gritty, and more than anything, very human. Most of the book was a proper story of drug running, DEA agents, and revenge - splashed with the undeniable chemistry that two people can sometimes have. The characters were very relatable. Sure, they were a DEA agent, and a drug runner; but more than that they were proud, quite solitary, stubborn, and overall vulnerable characters each with their own flaws, and each with a history that has made them who they are. 

I recommend this book as they are perfect quick reads, and would make fantastic books to have with you on your summer holiday, or even just laying in the park on a nice day. They really transport you into a different, grittier world. If the first book is anything to go by, the entire series is a must read.
